by Hibernians have continued strengthening by adding two more players to their line-up. Swieqi United have introduced the assistant coach to Saviour Darmanin and a new goalkeeper‘s coach, while Dorianne Theuma will not be continuing as coach of Birkirkara’s U21.
Hibernians FC’s Latest Captures
Keith Gouder will have former Birkirkara FC player Martina Cortis and former Raiders FC striker Leah Ayres at his disposal next season. Cortis was announced on Monday and will hope she can make her mark on the side after spending three years with the champions. Meanwhile, forward Leah Ayres joins from Raiders FC, bringing flair and another injection of pace to the forward line.
The two join Jeanelle Falzon who was announced over the weekend, while the club’s academy also confirmed the recruitment of Amber Galea and Leona Carabott for the youth categories.
Matthew Dowling & James Borg Join Coaching Team at Swieqi United
The Owls have announced the signing of Matthew Dowling who will assist Saviour Darmanin in coaching the women’s senior team, while James Borg has been recruited as the goalkeeper’s coach. Dowling joins the side after spending two years as head coach of Rumori Calcio, which competes in the fifth tier in Estonia. He also brings a wealth of experience from coaching youth levels in England for over a decade.
Meanwhile, Borg takes on the role after spending a year coaching the Mtarfa Youths, following an illustrious career of over twenty years as a goalkeeper in Maltese football.
Dorianne Theuma Calls Time on Coaching B’Kara’s U21
Dorianne Theuma will be seeking new pastures in coaching following three years with Birkirkara’s U21 team. Under her wing, the side won two consecutive league titles, with the first season being cut short by the pandemic.
There has yet to be an announcement as to where she will be heading next. Birkirkara FC are also yet to name a replacement.
