The Serie A club, Como Women, officially announced the arrival of Maya Cachia on Friday, as part of a series of announcements unveiling the squad for 2023/24.
Cachia noted her enthusiasm to join the side in a formal statement issued by the club’s social media, “I can’t wait for the season to start. Following the training sessions over the last days, I got to know my teammates and the staff better and I trust a good championship with Como Women.ā
The Maltese goalkeeper joins the team after having confirmed her departure from Venezia Calcio Femminile early last July. In a heartfelt thanks published on her social media, Cachia noted the triumphs and tribulations of an injury-marred season.
The eighteen-year old will be joining fellow Maltese defender Emma Lipman at Como Women, with the latter being also confirmed by the club for the third season. Noting the changes in technical staff, including the arrival of head coach Marco Bruzzano, Lipman also noted her enthusiasm for next season, “It’s really nice to be part of this team again. Iām excited for the new season, with new colleagues and a new staff, but always with the same goal.ā
