The Greens have announced their presence in the market through their first signing. Goalkeeper Giulia D’Antuono joins the squad for next season, thus making the switch from former Raiders FC. The news followed the confirmation that Michael Mangion will continue as head coach.
Mangion Continues As Head Coach
Following a rather quiet period, the Greens have started dishing out their plans for next season. On Tuesday, the club announced that head coach Michael Mangion will remain at the helm of the club for the third consecutive season.
D’Antuono to Give Strength & Depth in Goal
The news was followed by the announcement of the club’s first signing of Giulia D’Antuono on Wednesday. The goalkeeper was the first-choice in goal for Raiders Lija FC last year but has opted not to switch to Valletta FC Women, and instead will feature for Mgarr United next season.
She will join the squad alongside Patricia Ebejer, further giving strength and depth between the sticks for the Greens going into next season. Ebejer has been a mainstay in goal for Mgarr United, with youngster Gabriella Grima making a few appearances from the bench.
Both D’Antuono & Ebejer have featured for the national team at various age categories and have formed part of Tesse’s selections since she took charge of the National Team. The transfer also shifts focus into who will feature in goal for Valletta FC Women going into next season.
