A number of clubs announced new signings ahead of their first fixtures. Here is a round up of all the latest announcements made in and around the opening matches of the Assikura Women’s League.

Hibernians’ New Goalkeeper

Raisa Costantino’s departure drew much speculation as to who would fill her shoes in between the sticks for the Paolites. The team have recruited Canadian goalkeeper Zeeyana Jivraj in her stead, who was immediately put to the test against Valletta in the club’s opening fixture in the Assikura Women’s League. She made a solid start to her life with the Paolites by keeping a clean sheet. She previously featured for Youngstown State University until 2021, while she was pursuing her studies.

San Gwann’s Recruits and Coaching Updates

The Yellows announced the recruitment of three signings for the senior team, all of whom impressed in their debut in the opening match against Mgarr United. Rabab Mhalli and Chaimaa Tourki made the switch from the Greens and thus bring previous experience into the side.

The third signing is twenty-four year old Andjela Kricak. She brings a championship-winning mentality having lifted the league title with ZFK Spartak Subotica, which saw her also make substitute appearances in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2018 where the team won their qualification group and reached the Round of 32. They were denied further progression by Bayern Munich. Kricak seems to have settled well in her life with the Yellows, netting San Gwann’s goal against Mgarr United while pulling the strings in midfield.
