San Gwann were most active in their announcements in the past week, bolstering both defence and attack with three signings in Sabrin Blihi, Lisa Vella & Estelle Borg. Birkirkara claimed another Citizen, Ylenia Grech. Hibernians announced the departure of Amy Busuttil, while all eyes will be on Valletta as they continue to lose senior members of the squad.

San Gwann With Triple Signing

The Yellows have bolstered their senior squad with three signings. Lisa Vella returns to the side after a two year spell with Valletta. The defender also brings with her a former teammate in Sabrin Blihi, who was among the most prolific defenders among the Citizens, having also captained the Valletta youth team. Capable of picking out a pass and also packing plenty of aggression for defending, the two will certainly be useful for Julian Camilleri as the side bids to destabilise the top teams.

Meanwhile, the team also claimed the signing of forward Estelle Borg from Mtarfa. Bringing pace and a keen left foot, Borg will bolster options up front for both the senior and the U21 team.

Birkirkara Claim Ylenia Grech

Valletta also haemorrhaged more senior players to Birkirkara who secured the signature of Ylenia Grech. Also one of the most senior members in experience from the Valletta team, Grech’s departure will leave another gap for Valletta to resolve in their senior squad, joining also Eunice Micallef who was the first signing from Valletta announced in the previous week.

The duo will be hoping to take their progression to the next level, as Birkirkara will also demand championship-winning mentality and performances in their bid for a historic thirteenth title that eluded them last season.

Hibernians Bid Farewell To Amy Busuttil

The Paolites announced that they will also not be enjoying the services of Amy Busuttil, who formed part of the rejuvenation of Hibernians since their return from hiatus three years ago. Having played a key part in defence and more recently in midfield under the tutelage of Kenneth Costantino, Busuttil will be another squad member who departs the Paolites, following further departures announced back in May.

The Paolites have thus far announced the signature of Maya Cachia from Birkirkara.
