Mgarr United have confirmed that Yulya Carella will permanently switch to the club from San Gwann. Meanwhile, San Gwann appointed Jeremy Busuttil as assistant coach with the seniors and U19 sides, while Mtarfa confirmed Mario Farrugia as team manager. SKMM confirmed further players who will take part in the youth leagues.
Carella Officially a Green
Mgarr United announced on Wednesday that Yulya Carella will permanently join the squad from San Gwann, following a season-long loan spell with the Greens last season. There is little surprise that the Mgarr United wanted to make the switch permanent. Carella was a regular in the first eleven last season, aiding the team to finish in third place in the league. She was often seen blasting past defenders on the wing and also scoring some spectacular goals along the way.
She also impressed with the Malta national U19 squad against Armenia and the Faroe Islands, which earned her a senior debut against Haiti. The Greens will also be happy to see that Carella seems to have settled into preparations for the next season well, having recently scored a hat-trick against Valletta FC Women in a pre-season friendly.
San Gwann Appoint Jeremy Busuttil As Assistant Coach
San Gwann have continued shaping their coaching staff for the women’s teams by appointing Jeremy Busuttil. He will act as the assistant coach with the senior and U19 squads. He brings previous coaching experience, notably with the U21 men’s squad at Zurrieq. By taking on these assistant coaching duties, Busuttil extends his stay with San Gwann following two years with the team.
SKMM Latest Signings
The club has introduced four players who will be making their debut in the BNF Women’s National League and the Assikura Women’s Youth League next season. Amy Debono, Kimberley Sultana, Kylie Meilak and Ulania Awal will be joining the team in its maiden season in the leagues.
