The Owls have announced their first player signing in Thea Ida Scicluna, while confirming that Elise Abela will be joining the coaching staff of the women’s team. Meanwhile, Valletta FC Women and SKMM both revealed youngsters that will feature in the U16 and U19 leagues next season.

The Owls have announced that Thea Ida Scicluna will be joining the side and will feature in the U19 squad next season under the leadership of Dorianne Theuma. The youngster has impressed at both club and youth international level. Last season she regularly featured in the heart of the defence for Mtarfa FC in the Assikura Women’s League, while also making appearances in the Assikura Women’s Youth League with Mtarfa Mgarr Zebbug (MMZ). Her performances earned her a callup in the U17 National Training Camp last June.
The Owls have also announced that former Owl Elise Abela will be taking on the role of Physical Trainer for the women’s team. She joins the technical staff already announced in head coach and assistant technical director Saviour Darmanin, his assistant coach Matthew Dowling and goalkeeper coach James Borg.
Valletta FC’s Latest Youngsters
Hannah Fenech and Somaya Muscat are the latest to be confirmed by the newly established Valletta FC Women. The two will form part of the U16 squad that will be led by Julian Buhagiar. Their announcement follows that of several other players who will be donning the team’s colours in its first foray into women’s football.
SKMM First Players Revealed
S.K. Victoria Wanderers have announced the first five players who will feature in the SKMM team that will be contesting the U16 and U19 leagues next season. The five are Alliyah Bonnici Carbonaro, Elise Bajada, Gail Hili, Martha Sultana and Sofia Borg.
