The Owls have landed another signature, this time of Bulgarian forward Aleksandra Yaneva. The twenty-four year old made the switch from Swiss side FC Sion, bringing also experience in the UEFA Women’s Champions League from her time with Bulgarian side NSA Sofia.

She further boosts the attack, following the arrivals of Sara Saliba and Kaysia Micallef, while Valentina Rapa also made the switch to strengthen the defence.

The Owls are ramping up preparations toward their UEFA Women’s Champions League debut next week as they prepare to face Moldovan champions Agarista-ȘS Anenii Noi.

Maria Farrugia To Bristol, Willis Signs For Brescia As Bugeja Commits To Inter For Four Years

There was also plenty of news from transfers abroad. Having confirmed her departure from Sheffield United Women, Maria Farrugia was unveiled by Bristol City earlier this week. The Gozitan continues her spell in the English tier, with aims to continue making waves following earning the Goal of the Season in the league last season.

Bristol finished last season in the mid-table of the second tier, the Barclays Women’s Championship. They were last in the Barclays Women’s Super League two seasons ago, having won promotion following the 2022/23 season.

In Italy, Kailey Willis will be joining Brescia in Serie B, having departed Venezia at the back of last season following promotion to the same Serie B. Willis was one of the most prolific strikers for Venezia in their bid for promotion with the youngster hoping to have similar exploits with Brescia as they aim to climb up the Italian pyramid.

Meanwhile, Haley Bugeja appears to have made a good impression at Inter, with the forward penning a four-year deal keeping her in black and blue until 2029. Inter Women earned their best finish as runners’ up to Juventus last season and will debut in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in August against SK Brann.
