Lija Iklin confirm intention with signings, Valletta FC announce trio, Hibs & San Gwann bolster technical teams

Lija Iklin have given some stock to rumours of their potential presence in the U16 league with the confirmation of six players. Valletta FC Women announced three further players who will don their shirt next season. The last week has also brought a few coaching announcements from Hibs and San Gwann FC.

Lija Iklin Make a Splash

After weeks of speculation that the club could feature in the leagues next season, the Lija Iklin academy announced six players that will be partaking in the U16 in the club’s colours. The six players are Erica Cini, Amberley Borg, Hayley Micallef, Ylenia Debono, Leah Laudi and goalkeeper Julia Zarb.

Valletta FC Women Announce Trio

The club confirmed that Laura Chetcuti Dimech will also be making the transition from Raiders FC as part of the senior squad, in its maiden season within the Assikura Women’s League. The club also announced two additional signings with the U16 team in Katelyn Camilleri and Gloria Cassar.

San Gwann FC’s Goalkeeper Coach

The team has bolstered its technical staff with the signing of Danilo Sgroi. He will be the Goalkeeper Coach as from this season, while also taking the role of a Technical Collaborator with the U19 and U16 squads. Sgroi completed his training in Coverciano, which is home to the Italian football Federation.

Hibs’ Boost Strength & Conditioning for the U16s

Hibernians have announced that recent signing Demi Gauci Maistre will be taking on strength & conditioning coaching duties with the U16 side and also acting as the assistant coach to Kathleen Saliba. This is in addition to Gauci Maistre’s playing duties with the senior team. Gauci Maistre recently completed her academic specialisation in Strength, Conditioning and Rehabilitation in Portsmouth.
